  1. This is to inform you of what seems to be a discrepancy between a
  2. message from your system, as received here, and the specifications for
  3. echo mail.  Possibly the the message was fine when it left your system
  4. and was grunged somewhere along the path between us.  Regardless, there
  5. was a problem with it when it was received here.

  7. The most common reasons for this are:
  8.  
  9.     1)  Origin line which is too long (over 79 characters)
  10.     2)  No zone number in the address on the origin line
  11.     3)  Improper date field format as per FTS-0001
  12.  
  13.         There are 2 allowed date/time formats.  Both are 20 character
  14.         text strings, which are null terminated.  Examples:
  15.  
  16.             Standard format = "01 Jan 86  02:34:56"
  17.             Seadog format   = "Mon  1 Jan 86 02:34"
  18.  
  19. The message was not deleted or modified in any way, and was passed on.
  20. This copy was sent to you for information purposes only, so that you
  21. could find the source of the problem and fix it.

  23. The discrepancy noted in the message, as received here, was:

  36. Net Echomail Coordinator (NEC) to assist in its interpretation and for
  37. help in solving any problems.  Possibly the message was fine when it
  38. left your system and was grunged somewhere along the path between us.

  40. the problem and fixing it.
